Dance Baby Dance :: A CityLit Benefit



After the first night of Baltimore’s annual Book Festival winds down, the Literature Party is just beginning.

A major literary event is scheduled for Friday, September 23, to benefit CityLit’s “Across Words” program. The event, called “Literature Party,” will feature readings, immersive performances, and  DJ's. It is scheduled in partnership with Betascape, an art and technology festival happening the same weekend.



The benefit party, emceed by local artist and poet Stephanie Barber, will feature readings by Blake Butler, author of four books from major and independent presses; CAConrad, a 2011 Pew Fellow; Dorothea Lasky, whose books Awe and Black Life have been praised in The Boston Globe and ArtVoice; and Mike Young, a new Baltimore transplant whose books "We Are All Good and Look! Look! Feathers" were praised by Publishers Weekly. Additionally, Baltimore-based DJs DJ WOMAN and John Eaton are scheduled to play music.
